Vinson & Elkins said Chris Bennett rejoined the firm as a Houston-based partner in its corporate practice, having previously served at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
Mr. Bennett has experience on high-profile mergers and acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and other combinations relating to energy assets and businesses, the firm stated. He also advises on infrastructure projects and M&A focusing on the upstream and midstream oil and gas sectors, it said.
“He is a perfect fit for our energy transactions team, which is broadly recognized as one of the premier energy teams in the country,” said Partner Matt Strock, co-head of Vinson & Elkins’ Transactional practice.
Mr. Bennett is a leading lawyer for Energy: Oil & Gas (Transactional) in the U.S. according to Chambers USA (2022-2025), among other recognitions, and holds a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Tulane University Law School, the firm stated.
