Vinson & Elkins said Tigist Kassahun joined the firm as partner and will start working in Washington, D.C. before transitioning to New York.
Ms. Kassahun previously served at Debevoise & Plimpton and her experience focuses on the intellectual property and technology aspects of commercial transactions, including artificial intelligence and cybersecurity issues, the firm stated.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Pomona College and a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
“Tigist brings deep commercial experience across many technology sectors. She will be a vital asset to clients across industries as they develop, acquire, and monetize the technologies that underpin their businesses and drive growth, particularly in the context of strategic transactions,” said John Grand, Co-Head of Vinson & Elkins’ Corporate practice group.
