Tech Edge hosted a fireside chat on March 25 at RSA Conference 2026 in San Francisco with Robert Hansen, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Root Evidence. The in-person interview was joined by Editor-at-Large Jarrett Banks and they discussed how organizations are suffering significant material financial losses because of data breaches, the importance of clean and controllable data sources, among other topics.
About Robert Hansen
Robert “RSnake” Hansen is the CTO of Root Evidence and one of cybersecurity’s most prolific researchers, known for foundational work in web security. He discovered and helped popularize techniques like Clickjacking, Slowloris, and DNS Rebinding, and led security at companies including WhiteHat Security and Bit Discovery, both acquired.
Robert has advised banks, cloud providers, and defense agencies, founded ha.ckers.org, built one of the internet’s first security labs, and helped shape browser security standards through his exploits and disclosures. He’s also a published author, a frequent conference speaker, and advisor.
About Root Evidence
Root Evidence is a cybersecurity company advancing evidence-based vulnerability management to help organizations focus on the small percentage of vulnerabilities that are actually exploited in the wild, have caused reported breaches, and led to material financial losses.
With Root Evidence, security teams can calculate the financial risk to their organization, prioritize remediation efforts where they have the greatest impact, and genuinely reduce the likelihood of a breach.
Founded in July 2025 by industry veterans Jeremiah Grossman, Robert Hansen, Heather Konold, and Lex Arquette, Root Evidence is headquartered in Boise, Idaho and backed by Ballistic Ventures, Grossman Ventures, and a roster of leading cybersecurity experts.
