Vinson & Elkins Represents Initial Purchasers in Weatherford’s $1.2 Billion Offering

Vinson and Elkins said it advised Wells Fargo & Company (NYSE: WFC), as the initial purchasers’ representative, in the upsized offering of $1.2 billion aggregate principal amount of 6.75% senior notes due 2033 carried out by Weatherford International plc (Nasdaq: WFRD).

The firm also advised Wells Fargo as dealer manager for Weatherford’s cash tender offer to purchase up to $1.3 billion aggregate principal amount of its 8.625% senior notes due 2030, it stated.

Vinson & Elkins team was led by partners Thomas Zentner, Ben Heriaud, and David Stone, and associate John Frey, with assistance from associates Lindsay Moore, Hannah Avery, and Adrian Hernandez.

Other key team members include associates Nick Wetzeler and Shelby Shearer (corporate); partner Wendy Salinas, counsel Curt Wimberly and Lauren Meyers, and associate Patrick Darby (tax).
