Vinson & Elkins said Samara Shepherd joined the firm as a Houston-based partner in the Investment Funds practice, having previously served at Kirkland & Ellis.
Ms. Shepherd focuses on advising private fund sponsors in the formation, structuring, and operation of private equity funds, as well as associated management companies and other investment vehicles, it stated.
“Her arrival marks an exciting moment for our growing, full-service Investment Funds practice and our complementary asset management teams,” said Robert Seber, partner and head of the Vinson & Elkins Investment Funds practice.
Ms. Shepherd holds a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Florida State University and a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt Law School.
