IQVIA (NYSE: IQV) and clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company Medera Inc. announced a strategic collaboration aimed at accelerating the development of cardiac gene therapies and human-based drug discovery platforms.
Under the partnership, Medera’s Sardocor unit will use IQVIA’s clinical trial, regulatory and commercialization capabilities to advance FDA-cleared, first-in-human gene therapy programs targeting difficult-to-treat cardiovascular diseases. IQVIA will support patient recruitment, regulatory filings and applications for expedited FDA designations.

“By combining IQVIA’s global expertise with Medera’s mini-Heart platform and gene therapy programs, we can bring safer, more effective therapies to patients faster,” Medera Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO Ronald Li said. The collaboration will also support Medera’s Novoheart platform, which uses engineered human cardiac tissue for disease modeling, drug screening and toxicity testing.
