Skyline Research Could Change How Doctors Predict Skin Cancer Metastasis

SkylineDx shared new findings in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC) research that could help improve early risk detection and treatment strategies for skin cancer patients worldwide.

Researchers developed a new gene-expression signature, SCCore GEP, that may better identify patients at higher risk of metastasis — even outperforming traditional staging systems, it said.

“The Cancer Genome Atlas and other large-scale sequencing consortia overlooked CSCC, despite it being one of the most common forms of cancer Worldwide,” Associate Professor, Department of Dermatology and Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Hunter Shain, said.
